Have fun with Talavera Tile

Katie’s client Susan and her mother made the decision to sell their houses and move into a condo together in eastern Washington. A remodel was well within possibility, not to mention the ease of Susan’s brother already working in the construction industry. They wanted something fun with a lot of color for their new kitchen, and Susan happened to mention her love for traditional Talavera tile. Katie was beyond excited to help find and connect Susan with a direct source for imported Talavera tile straight from Mexico. After ordering tons of samples and playing around with each of them, Katie helped Susan find her favorite and they both loved how it looked with Bellmont Cabinet Company’s Naval paint color.
Pair it with simplicity
It paired amazingly with the crisp white upper cabinets and Calacatta marble inspired quartz countertops. They also decided to expand the kitchen into the laundry room by taking out the doorway between the two, which afforded more pantry space for Susan and her mother.
The final result gave the two the bright and cheery kitchen of their dreams! Katie loved working with Susan and her brother, and couldn’t be happier with what they were able to do with the space. What a fun and rewarding project!
